Private health

Private coverage, and whether it fits you

Private health products sit outside the Marketplace. For some people they are a good fit, and for others a Marketplace plan is the better answer. Which is which depends on your health, your budget and what you need covered — so it is worth comparing rather than assuming.

Availability varies

Not every product is offered in every state, and what is available to you may differ from what is available elsewhere.

Eligibility may apply

Depending on the product, health questions or underwriting may be part of the application. That is not true of Marketplace plans.

Networks and benefits vary

What is covered, and which providers are in network, differs by product and carrier. It is confirmed by the carrier, not by me.

Not automatically better

Private coverage is an option, not an upgrade. Anyone telling you it is always the stronger choice is not looking at your situation.

Questions people ask

Is private coverage cheaper?

Sometimes, and sometimes not — particularly if you qualify for a premium tax credit on a Marketplace plan. Comparing both is the only way to know.

Will I be asked health questions?

Depending on the product, yes. I will tell you which products involve that before you apply.

Request a coverage review?

No cost, no obligation, and a straight answer.
